The 25,000 fans inside the MEWA ARENA on Friday evening weren’t exactly treated to a spectacle, but they were treated to a last minute equaliser. Lino Kasten has left VfL Wolfsburg after seven years at the club. The goalkeeper’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent. The 21-year-old joined the VfL academy in 2015 from Viktoria Berlin, progressing through the U17 and U19 teams and also featuring for the reserves in the Regionalliga. Kasten was loaned to Austrian partner club SKN St. Pölten between July 2021 and June 2022. We wish Lino all the best for his future on and off the pitch.
