Who is Borussia’s Player of the Month for December?

Moritz Nicolas, Max Wöber, Rocco Reitz and Alassane Plea are all up for December’s Player of the Month award, presented jointly by Borussia and Cichon Personalmanagement. You can now vote for your favourite in the FohlenApp.

In December, the Foals contested four Bundesliga games (a 2-1 win over Hoffenheim, a 3-1 loss to Union Berlin, a 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen and a 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt) and the DFB-Pokal Round of 16 match against VfL Wolfsburg (a 1-0 win after extra time). Moritz Nicolas (twice), Max Wöber, Rocco Reitz and Alassane Plea were all at one point voted Player of the Match by Gladbach fans. All four are now up for our Player of the Month award, presented by Cichon Personalmanagement. From now until Thursday at 23:59 CET, you can vote in the FohlenApp via the ‘Umfrage’ section of the menu.

Moritz Nicolas: Standing in for the injured Jonas Omlin, Moritz Nicolas once again proved himself to be a reliable presence for the Foals between the sticks in December. In the Pokal game against Wolfsburg, he prevented his team from falling behind with several magnificent saves, and the 25-year-old impressed in the other matches too.

Max Wöber: After having missed the first two competitive games in December due to illness, Wöber returned to the starting eleven against Union Berlin. In Frankfurt, he headed Borussia into the lead, before leaving the field after being red-carded two minutes from time.

Rocco Reitz: The home-grown talent was again one of the most in-form Borussia players in December. Reitz started all five competitive games and brought his energy onto the pitch. His best performance came in the 2-2 draw against Bremen, when he netted a brace. His goal to put the Foals 2-1 ahead was subsequently voted Borussia’s Goal of the Year by fans.

Alassane Plea: The Frenchman was also in good form in December, scoring in each of the first two Bundesliga games. He converted from the spot for the opening goal of the 2-1 win over Hoffenheim, before heading one back for the Foals in their 3-1 defeat to Union Berlin. With seven goals, Plea is currently Borussia’s top scorer this season.
