Tobias Sippel extends his contract until 2025

Borussia Mönchengladbach and Tobias Sippel have agreed to extend his contract by a further year until 30th June 2025.

“Tobias is a reliable and experienced goalkeeper, plus an important and positive guy to have in the team, particularly within our goalkeeping group,” said Roland Virkus, Borussia’s managing director for sport. “He knows his role and has shown on numerous occasions that we can rely on him when he’s needed.”

Tobias Sippel: “I’m now set to go into my ninth season at Borussia. My sporting situation hasn’t changed much, but I still really enjoy helping the younger goalkeepers and challenging them in training. I’m looking forward to everything that’s still to come at Borussia and I’m really thankful to remain a part of such an amazing club.”

Sippel joined Gladbach from 1. FC Kaiserslautern ahead of the 2015/2016 season. He made his Bundesliga debut for the Foals on 3rd October 2015 in a 2-0 home win over VfL Wolfsburg. Sippel has featured in a total of 25 competitive games for Borussia, including 18 in the Bundesliga and seven in the DFB-Pokal. The 36-year-old didn’t make an appearance for the club in the season just gone.
