REUTER to become new main sponsor of Borussia
REUTER will become Borussia Mönchengladbach’s main commercial partner from the 2024/25 season. Gladbach has agreed a deal with Germany’s largest online bathroom retailer until at least 2026, with the option of a further year.
REUTER will become Borussia Mönchengladbach’s main commercial partner from the 2024/25 season. Gladbach has agreed a deal with Germany’s largest online bathroom retailer until at least 2026, with the option of a further year.
“We are incredibly pleased about the positive outcome of our discussions,” says Gladbach chief executive Stephan Schippers. “We have already worked closely with REUTER for several years, and much like Borussia, they are an icon of Mönchengladbach. Our early agreement regarding the partnership gives both parties optimal time to plan. We had many conversations with potential partners throughout the process, and decided on the interested candidate that, in our view, fits best with Borussia.”
The collaboration between REUTER and Gladbach has been ongoing since 2011, with the company being amongst the Foals’ principal partners since 2015. “Our partnership is full of trust and built on the reliability of the people involved and mutual appreciation,” says Bernd Reuter, founder and chief executive of REUTER. “As a Mönchengladbach-based company who are headquartered less than five kilometres from BORUSSIA-PARK, we feel a very close connection to the city and to the team. As their new main partner, we see an ideal opportunity to increase our brand visibility and awareness among Gladbach fans and beyond,” adds Theresa Seibel, chief marketing officer at REUTER.
REUTER will succeed flatex as the main sponsor of Borussia Mönchengladbach, becoming the eleventh main partner in the history of the club. “We think in terms of long-lasting partnerships,” says Guido Uhle, Borussia’s director for sponsorships. “We’re pleased to be continuing our successful 13-year-long association with REUTER. Together, we want to continue our two Mönchengladbach success stories on an international scale.” He continued: “At this point we would also like to thank flatexDEGIRO AG, who have been our main partner since 2020 and will remain as a co-sponsor until at least 2027.”
In 2004, REUTER recognised the changing face of the bathroom product industry and became one of the first companies to expand into the field of online sales. It was an overwhelming success, and led to rapid growth – the company now boasts hundreds of thousands products available for quick delivery, a wide range of top-class brands, a high level of expertise and low online prices. The company’s 40,000 sq ft administrative and logistics centre is situated on the outskirts of Mönchengladbach. REUTER now employs around 850 people in Mönchengladbach, Düsseldorf and Dortmund, delivering products to 27 countries. With further locations in Paris (opened 2020), Bern (2021), Warsaw (2022), Milan and Borgomanero (2024), REUTER has become an international company.
As an industry pioneer, the company uses its financial independence to continually invest in its future. “To become Borussia’s main partner exactly 20 years after the founding of REUTER’s online shop is a special milestone for us,” says Bernd Reuter. “We’re looking forward to opening up a new, exciting chapter of our close partnership with the Foals.”
