Reitz is Borussia’s player of the month for November
Rocco Reitz has been voted as Borussia’s Player of the Month for November, presented by Cichon Personalmanagement. The midfielder beat Alassane Plea and Moritz Nicholas to the award.
Rocco Reitz has won Borussia’s Player of the Month award for the third consecutive month. The academy graduate also previously won the award in September and October. On this occasion, the midfielder received approximately 73% of the fans’ votes. Alassane Plea (18%) came second, whilst Moritz Nicholas (9%) finished third.
Reitz performed admirably in central midfield in November, impressing with his tireless commitment and willingness to cover distance. Additionally, he scored his first two goals in the Bundesliga. In the 4-0 win against VfL Wolfsburg, he read a pass from Wolfsburg’s goalkeeper Koen Casteels in the 42th minute, intercepted it and made it 2-0 after getting the better of his defender. “I’ve always dreamed of scoring my first goal at BORUSSIA-PARK. In reality, it was even better than I imagined,” said Reitz, who scored again in the following game in Dortmund (4-2 loss) to put his side 1-0 up. Following a fine through ball from Plea, he left BVB’s keeper Gregor Kobel with no chance with a controlled finish into the far corner. Reitz also scored a brace on his debut for the Germany U21s in their 4-1 win against Estonia.
