Pre-season begins with performance tests

Borussia Mönchengladbach began pre-season preparations today, with the players taking park in performance tests on Friday and Saturday.

Ahead of the first pre-season training session under new head coach Gerardo Seoane on Sunday (9th July), the Foals will undergo two days of mandatory performance tests at the Medical Park. The results of these tests will allow the club’s medical and coaching staffs to familiarise themselves with each player’s individual fitness levels, which will help determine their pre-season training plans.

The players began with a full battery of physical and performance-based tests on Friday. In addition to physical, orthopaedic and neurologic tests, the team also completed a running gait analysis, vision check and other sports-specific tests. They will undergo additional checks on Saturday, including a lactate test.

A total of 20 players, including new signings Robin Hack, Grant-Leon Ranos and Lukas Ullrich, all took part in today’s tests, which took place at the Medical Park, Borussia’s Performance Centre and other rooms within BORUSSIA-PARK. Those players who were on international duty following the end of the league season are still on holiday, and will complete their performance tests upon their return to Mönchengladbach.

The team’s first public training session will take place on Sunday, 9th July (10:30 CEST), and will be followed by an autograph session for the fans. There will be additional public training sessions on Monday and Wednesday (at 10:30 CEST and 16:00 CEST), as well as on Tuesday and Friday (10:30 CEST).
