Kramer back in training
The Foals began the new week with just 13 outfield players in training, including Christoph Kramer.
With 10 Borussia players away on international duty and three further players injured, head coach Gerardo Seoane only has 13 outfield players to work with in training at the moment. One positive, though, is that Christoph Kramer has made a return to training. The midfielder, who partially tore the MCL in his knee in mid-July, was able to complete parts of training with the rest of the team on Monday. “I’ve never been injured during pre-season in my career, so it’s hard to estimate when I’ll be back to 100%. I think it’ll take a little bit longer given that I was out for more than six weeks,” said the German.
Kramer, Tony Jantschke, Franck Honorat, Hannes Wolf, Robin Hack, Patrick Herrmann and Jordan Siebatcheu trained for almost 90 minutes, whereas Rocco Reitz, Florian Neuhaus, Nathan Ngoumou and Alassane Plea, who all started against Bayern on Saturday, got to finish slightly earlier on.
Captain Jonas Omlin (shoulder injury), Manu Koné (recovery work after knee injury) and Luca Netz (thigh) cannot train with the team at the moment, while Nico Elvedi (Switzerland), Max Wöber (Austria), Grant-Leon Ranos (Armenia), Tomáš Čvančara (Czech Republic), Yvandro Borges Sanches (Luxembourg), Joe Scally (USA), Ko Itakura (Japan), Lukas Ullrich (Germany U20), Simon Walde (Germany U19s) and Fabia Chiarodia (Italy U19s) are all away on international duty.
The Foals will train on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week, as well as taking on Werder Bremen in a friendly in Willingen on Thursday night (17:30 CEST).
