Gladbach head into the week “with extra energy”

The Foals kicked off this week’s training programme on Tuesday morning ahead of their final home game of the season on Saturday (15:30 CEST) against Eintracht Frankfurt.

“The last-minute equaliser will give us extra energy going into this week,” says head coach Gerardo Seoane, reflecting on the weekend’s 2-2 draw at Werder Bremen. With that clash now out of the way, Gladbach’s attention is now firmly on Saturday’s penultimate game of the season, where they will face Eintracht Frankfurt. “We’re just focussing on ourselves and we’re doing everything we can to improve our game,” said Seoane.

Christoph Kramer and Tony Jantschke were back on the pitch for the first session of the week, and both were able to take part in sections of full team training. However, Alassane Plea, who came off at half-time in Bremen with an ankle issue, was absent, as were Max Wöber (muscle strain), Grant-Leon Ranos (foot injury), Simon Walde (high ankle sprain) and Shio Fukuda (ankle injury).

Seoane’s men will return to the training pitch at 11:00 CEST on Wednesday for a public training session, and have two further sessions at the same time on Thursday and Friday – both behind closed doors.
