Another milestone for Plea
Alassane Plea’s penalty to make it 1-0 in yesterday’s 2-1 win against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim was his 100th goal involvement for the Foals.
Alassane Plea ended a months-long goal drought with his 50th competitive goal for Borussia in a 3-1 win against Bochum at the end of September. “This goal broke my duck. I knew that the goals would come much easier afterwards,” Plea said in an interview with borussia.de shortly after.
His words would prove true, with the Frenchman netting four goals in his next seven matches and also contributing an assist against Dortmund. He’s therefore reached another milestone for the Foals in the process, with his opening goal against Hoffenheim his 100th goal involvement in his 189th game for Borussia (55 goals, 45 assists) – an impressive return.
Plea won the penalty in yesterday’s 2-1 match against TSG after being fouled by Ozak Kabak. He then stepped up to convert it himself, netting his 46th goal in his 165th Bundesliga goal. The 30-year-old is currently in 17th place in the club’s list of their all-time record goalscorers. In order to break into the top 10, Plea will need to add another 14 top-flight goals to his tally.
