FCA players return from training camp

A productive week in Austria

Three friendlies, dozens of training sessions and lots of team spirit. The FC Augsburg players returned home on Sunday afternoon after an intensive week in Schladming.

The players and the staff were able to prepare for the new season in optimal conditions in Austria, both on the training ground and in the hotel. Newcomers Finn Dahmen, Patric Pfeiffer, Sven Michel, Tim Breithaupt, Masaya Okugawa and Phillip Tietz were able to get to know their new teammates and integrate into the FCA family with team-building events such as rafting and the BBQ with the fans that made the trip.

The players were also able to get some match practice with friendlies against Besiktas (1-1), FC Kufstein (9-0) and PSV Eindhoven (1-2). Head coach Enrico Maaßen was happy with the work that his players put in in Austria ahead of the new campaign.

The team now have a couple of days off to look forward to before they get to work in the final two weeks leading up to the new season. They will return to the training ground on Wednesday before the two friendlies on Saturday, 29th July. Maaßen’s men will take on Jahn Regensburg behind closed doors (11:30 CEST), before facing Ajax at the WWK ARENA (15:00 CEST).
