FCA beat Kufstein 9-0 in friendly
6 goals in the second half
FC Augsburg secured a comfortable 9-0 win over Austrian third division side FC Kufstein on Tuesday evening.
FCA made a bright start to the contest and took the lead in the 5th minute through central defender Frederik Winther. Despite Kufstein goalkeeper Luca Savoldelli’s best efforts, the Fuggerstädter pushed on as the half progressed. Sven Michel made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute, before Ruben Vargas added another just 5 minutes later (28’).
Enrico Maaßen’s men kept their foot on the gas when the teams came back out for the second half. Substitute Maurice Malone scored a quick fire brace to make it 5-0 (50’, 57’), before Mert Kömür, who turned 18 yesterday, added a 6th (61’). Irvin Cardona then capped off a superb day for FCA with a late hat-trick (65’, 80’, 90’).
Augsburg are next in action on Saturday, 22nd July against Dutch side PSV Eindhoven (15:00). Maaßen’s side will remain at their training camp in Schladming until Sunday.
