Man Utd takeover: Ten Hag plans ‘paralysed’ with one transfer in the balance as £6bn stance is revealed

Erik ten Hag’s summer transfer plans at Man Utd have been ‘paralysed’ as the takeover process drags on, according to reports.

The Red Devils set a deadline of April 28 for third, and what was expected to be final, bids for the club with Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe both getting new offers in on time.

However, Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim launched a fourth bid for the club last week after reports of the Ratcliffe camp’s growing confidence at sealing a deal to take over the Premier League giants.

The fourth bid, which as before is for 100 per cent of the club. was submitted directly to the Glazer family and will clear all debt and includes a separate fund directed solely at the club and community.

There has been little information coming out of the club since Sheikh Jassim’s latest offer, which was submitted on May 17, but now the Daily Mirror claims that the Glazers are still ‘ to walk away’.

That asking price is still proving ‘to be too rich for both Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim’ and the Glazers are ‘squeezing every single penny out of a potential sale’.

And the takeover process is now ‘starting to have a negative effect on Ten Hag’s hopes of making the signings’ with claims the Man Utd boss’ transfer plans are currently ‘paralysed’.

Ten Hag is ‘being kept in the dark about the future ownership of the club’ with a source informing the Daily Mirror the Dutchman has been ‘given little information about whether the Glazer family intend to follow through on an opportunity to sell United to Sir Jim Ratcliffe or Sheikh Jassim’.

Neymar, who is likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer as they look to cut their wage budget, .

And transfer expert Fabrizio Romano insists that a deal for the Brazilian superstar will depend on the new owners and their plans for the club.

Romano said on The House of Champions: “I can confirm and I can say that at the moment, nothing is concrete for Neymar’s future, so nothing is happening now, this week or next week, it will take time.

“With Manchester United, from what I understand, I saw the reports coming from France, but from what I’m told there is absolutely nothing at this stage with the current ownership.

“We have to wait and see who’s going to be, if there is going to be a new owner of Manchester United and, in that moment, what kind of strategy they will have.

“If they want to sign that kind of player, or maybe follow what Erik ten Hag is doing, that may be going on different kinds of player with different kinds of projects. But at the moment between Neymar and Manchester United there is nothing.”
