1. FC Union Berlin’s Bundesliga squad have finished their training camp in Bramberg am Wildkogel, Austria, presented by sonnenschutz.de.

After a final breakfast together and a quiet farewell to their home for the past week and a half, the players, coaching team and staff set off at 10:00 for Salzburg airport.

Reading, listening to music, sleeping – the two-hour drive to the city of Mozart was all about quiet relaxation. Ten days of training camp had left their mark and slowly but surely, more and more anticipation for home was spreading.

At 13.10 the “Union plane” left the ground of the Alpine republic and dropped the players, coaches and staff back in Berlin 80 minutes later. Only the infamous Köpenick rush hour delayed the arrival at the Alte Försterei by a few minutes. By soon after three it was finally done and all the fellow travellers had dispersed on their way home.

Quote of the day: “Your own bed is the nicest, I just want to sleep.” – One of the players after arriving at the stadium.

Tomorrow, Thursday, the team have a day off before meeting again on Friday, 04.08.2023 for training. One day later, on Saturday, 05.08.2023, Union will meet their final friendly opponents before the season proper begins as, presented by the IFA, Italian Serie A team Atalanta come to the Alte Försterei. After the match, there will be a chance to meet the Union players and get autographs in the Hämmerling-Eck beer garden from 18:00 to 20:00.

Tickets for the game are still on sale in the standing-room areas, Bundesliga admission prices apply. Tickets can be purchased online as well as in all Union’s Zeughaus stores.
