‘We protect what we love’ was the message at last night’s general meeting of “An der Alten Försterei” Stadionbetriebs AG.
Union President Dirk Zingler had already announced it at the club’s general meeting in October: ‘Our stadium should always belong to the people who care about it: members of 1. FC Union Berlin and their families, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.’
Yesterday evening’s Annual General Meeting paved the way for the issue of new stadium shares with the resolution to carry out another capital increase.
For the first time since 2011, around 70,000 club members and sponsors will have the opportunity to become owners of their stadium from 9 December 2024 at 08.00.*.
Stadion An der Alten Försterei has been the home ground of 1. FC Union Berlin and its predecessor clubs since 1920. However, ‘Alte Försterei’ has long meant much more. This is where the heart of the club beats, where Union players feel at home. This home must be protected and developed for future generations.
Anyone wishing to become a stadium owner from 9 December 2024 must be a member of 1. FC Union Berlin, by the end of November at the latest. Subscription to the new stadium share is possible both online and in person.
