1. FC Union Berlin will take on Dynamo Dresden at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on Saturday at 14:05 local time. The match will be shown live on RBB and MDR.
Urs Fischer’s side picked up their first win of pre-season on Wednesday at 3.Liga outfit Viktoria Berlin. The level will be turned up again when Dynamo Dresden, promoted to the 2.Bundesliga, will head for Köpenick.
Opposition Check
With a four-point cushion, Alexander Schmidt’s side secured a return back to the second-tier of German football after a one year absence. The 52-year-old was previously the coach of Türkgücü München but took over after 12 matches and guided the club to promotion. Saturday’s game could see some familiar faces back in Köpenick. Striker Philipp Hosiner scored eight goals in 47 games for Union and will lead the line for Dresden.
Supporters must be tested to attend
The gates will open at the Alte Försterei from midday on Saturday. Ticket holders are requested to use the admission area on their ticket and arrive early. After Union’s request for an exception was granted, 5,000 people are allowed to be present in the stadium. For the additional seats, club members can still purchase up to two tickets online at a price of 10 euros (seating) and 5 euros (standing).
In accordance with the Infection Protection Measures in Berlin, testing is mandatory for all stadium visitors. Every visitor is required to wear a medical or FFP2 mask if the minimum distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained.
