1. FC Union Berlin have signed midfielder Kevin Möhwald as we approach the final hours of the transfer window.
The 28-year-old from Erfurt made the breakthrough with his local club, FC Rot-Weiß, before moving to 1. FC Nürnberg in 2015. Möhwald played 93 times for the club and scored 12 goals, assisting 24. His excellent form was rewarded with a move to Werder Bremen where he played 60 matches for the northern German club. In 51 Bundesliga appearance, Möhwald has got himself on the scoresheet eight times.
“I’m happy to continue playing in the Bundesliga. Union is an exceptional club that has shown in recent years how much potential it has. From my time in Nürnberg, I can still remember the atmosphere at the Alte Försterei and am looking forward to the task in Berlin,” said Kevin Möhwald after signing his contract.
“Kevin Möhwald has already shown his playing quality in the Bundesliga and we believe that Kevin will do us good with these skills. We are looking forward to a player who knows the Bundesliga and will integrate quickly,” said Oliver Ruhnert, 1. FC Union Berlin’s Managing Director for Professional Football.
