Three players from 1. FC Union Berlin’s women’s team have been called up to their respective national teams for the upcoming international matches in May and June.
The nominees
Athanasia Moraitou has already made a successful start to qualifying for the 2025 European Championship with the Greek national team in April. Greece celebrated two victories in their first two matches in Group 3 of League C, a 1-0 win against the Faroe Islands was followed by a 3-0 win over Andorra. In the upcoming matches, Greece will first face Montenegro before the return match against the Faroe Islands four days later. Only the group winners will qualify for the play-offs for participation in the European Championship. The three best runners-up in League C will also take part in the play-offs.

Meanwhile, Naika Reissner will play two friendlies with the Austrian U20 national team in Salou, Spain. Austria will face Ghana and Brazil in preparation for the 2024 U20 World Cup in Colombia.

Nour Youssef has again been nominated for the Palestinian national team by national coach Nasser Beitello. Although the attacking player will accept the invitation, she will not play in the game against Bahrain due to her injury.
All three players will therefore miss the last match in the Regionalliga Nordost on 02.06.2024 against Bischofswerdaer FV.
