Day two started with a training session for the VfB squad. A constant factor in any outdoor activities in Osaka is the heat, with temperatures already hovering around 30 degrees Celsius before midday, making it sweaty for both the players on the pitch and those watching in the stands. After the session, the team and coaching staff took plenty of time with the fans for autographs and selfies. Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß and defender Anrie Chase then looked ahead to the first friendly in Japan against Kyoto Sanga FC on Sunday (live on VfB TV) in a press conference.

Sightseeing in Osaka

In the afternoon, some of the squad had a look around the streets of Osaka before visiting Osaka Castle.

B2B event at Mercedes Me Store

Meanwhile, Alexander Nübel, Ramon Hendriks, chief marketing and sales officer Rouven Kasper, and brand ambassador and VfB legend Cacau attended a business event at the Mercedes Me Store in Osaka.

Football and cultural exchange

Assistant coach Malik Fathi, goalkeeping coach Steffen Krebs and conditioning coach Andre Filipovic headed to Kyoto, where they held a training session with U18 youth players.
