Ermedin Demirovic: “Everyone in our team was aware that the first 30 minutes didn’t go as we wanted them to. But we supported and pushed each other, we worked hard and clawed our way into the game together. That makes it all the better that we were able to go on and win it. Obviously, I’m delighted with my two goals – the first of them was 80 percent down to Fabian Rieder. It was a brilliant assist.”
Deniz Undav: “Gladbach certainly caused us problems. We weren’t really in the game at the start. It was important that we stayed calm, communicated with each other and believed in our strengths. We knew that if we kept the score at 1-1, our chances would come. ‘Demi’ [Ermedin Demirovic] did an outstanding job. We’re happy to take the three points.”
Sebastian Hoeneß: “It was a tough game, as expected. I think we were really good in the second half and we rewarded ourselves with two more goals. It was an important win.”
