Enzo Millot looks in the mirror and nods in satisfaction. “Yeah, that looks good,” says the midfielder, who played a vital role in the 5-1 win against Borussia Dortmund last Sunday with a goal and two assists. However, when he sees Fabian Rieder in the traditional clothing, he calls out to his team-mate in acknowledgement: “It looks even better on you than me.” The two players laugh, and then it’s the turn of Ermedin Demirovic, Alexander Nübel and Leonidas Stergiou to get fitted.
On Wednesday morning, Krüger Dirndl GmbH from Wernau kitted out the VfB first team for the 177thCannstatter Volksfest. That’s because on 9 October, VfB and Stuttgarter Hofbräu are once again inviting guests to a white-and-red evening at the ‘Wasen’ in ‘Grandl’s Hofbräu tent’.
The whole VfB family will be celebrating together at the festival. The first team, VfB legends, and (of course!) mascot Fritzle are already looking forward to many special moments and encounters.
After the fitting, the focus was soon back on sporting matters for the rest of the day. The team trained for around 90 minutes on Wednesday as they stepped up their preparations for the next Bundesliga match against VfL Wolfsburg. The Cannstatt Boys visit the 13th-placed Wolves on Saturday 28 September (kick-off 15:30 CEST).
