What a night for the four VfB players called up to the Germany squad. Maximilian Mittelstädt made his full debut and played the whole game, Chris Führich came on in the 72nd minute, Deniz Undav was introduced in the 80th minute and Waldemar Anton in the 89th.

“Dream come true”

“It’s a dream come true,” Mittelstädt said after his successful debut at left-back. “It’s a very nice feeling and I’m extremely proud.” He also earned praise from veteran Toni Kroos, who highlighted “how composed Maximilian Mittelstädt was in his first international match”.

Undav and Anton also celebrate debuts

Undav was also delighted to get his first taste of international football. “First of all, I’m proud and happy to have got playing time,” said the striker. “Obviously, it was a good thing that we won 2-0.”

Julian Nagelsmann’s side face Netherlands in Frankfurt on Tuesday (20:45 CET) in their third-from-last friendly before the European Championship.
