Ramon Hendriks joins VfB Stuttgart with immediate effect, signing a contract with the Cannstatt club until 30 June 2028. Hendriks, who’s 22 years old and 1.89 metres tall, spent last season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, where he made 31 appearances in the Eredivisie. In total, the defender has played 43 games in the Dutch top flight for Vitesse, FC Utrecht and Feyenoord. He also featured three times in the UEFA Europa Conference League for Feyenoord in the 2021/22 season as the Rotterdam club reached the final. He also has an international honour to his name, having become an U17 European champion with Netherlands in 2018.
VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth: “Ramon played 31 games in the Dutch Eredivisie last season and his performances aroused our interest. We believe he can make the step up to the Bundesliga, and at the same time we see further potential for development in him. We’re pleased that Ramon has chosen VfB and the path we’ve shown him, and offer him a warm welcome to Stuttgart.”
Ramon Hendriks: “I’m really looking forward to playing in Germany. It’s a big step for me and I’m very happy to be here. I can’t wait to get to know the team and the staff, train here and play in this magnificent stadium.”
