Frans Krätzig is moving to Stuttgart on loan from FC Bayern for the coming season. Krätzig has risen through the youth ranks at Bayern since joining in 2017 and made his Bundesliga debut on 23 September 2023. The 21-year-old, who can play in a number of positions but primarily on the left wing, has four Bundesliga appearances, two DFB Cup outings (one goal) and one Champions League appearance for the Bavarian side to his name. In February of this year, Krätzig joined Austria Wien on loan, where he made 17 appearances in all competitions, scoring once. He has also played eight times for the German U20 team in recent months.

“Frans has a very interesting profile,” said VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth. “We believe he has the footballing ability and the right mentality to establish himself permanently as a Bundesliga player. He’s also gained valuable experience already at first-team level with FC Bayern and most recently with Austria Wien. We’re looking forward to seeing Franz play in a VfB shirt in the future.”

“VfB offers me the opportunity to continue my development and to learn from my teammates and from my own playing time,” said Krätzig. “That’s why I’m here and I’m raring to go.”
