Maximilian Mittelstädt has signalled his commitment to VfB Stuttgart by signing a two-year contract extension at the club, keeping him in Cannstatt until 30 June 2028.

Board member for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth: “Maxi Mittelstädt has developed impressively since joining us. He has become a key player here and also a Germany international. Finishing as Bundesliga runners-up last season and then participating in the European Championship underline Maxi’s remarkable development. It quickly became clear to us that we wanted to extend his contract and keep Maxi at VfB in the long term. We are delighted that we have been able to do so and are very much looking forward to our future together.”

Maximilian Mittelstädt: “I’m very happy to have extended my contract. I’ve felt at home at VfB Stuttgart since day one and settled in very quickly. Last season was very special for all of us, finishing as runners-up and qualifying for the Champions League. On a personal level, things could hardly have gone any better for me in my first year at VfB. I was able to contribute to a successful season and made the step up into the national team. Taking part in the European Championship was a dream come true for me. I’m very grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way. I’m looking forward to the next few years at VfB and the outstanding support of our fans in the Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League.”
