Goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon and superstar Cristiano Ronaldo made the draw for the league phase of the UEFA Champions League on Thursday evening in Monaco. VfB Stuttgart will go up against Paris Saint-Germain, Atalanta, Young Boys Bern and Sparta Prague at the MHP Arena.
Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß’s side will also contest away games against defending champions Real Madrid, as well as Juventus, Red Star Belgrade and Slovan Bratislava.
Matchday 1 will take place from 17-19 September. The league phase will conclude on 29 January and will be followed by the knockout rounds. Exact dates and kick-off times of the league-phase fixtures will be confirmed on Saturday 31 August.
