Tiago Tomás moved to Stuttgart on loan from Sporting Clube de Portugal in January 2022, contributing eight goals and four assists in 47 competitive games for VfB.

VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth: “We have decided not to activate the agreed purchase option for Tiago. First and foremost, that’s due to financial reasons. In footballing terms, Tiago was a very important player for us and his performances were a big reason why VfB have stayed in the Bundesliga over the past two seasons. We wish him all the best for the next steps in his career and thank him for his efforts in a VfB shirt.”

Tanguy Coulibaly arrived from the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy in summer 2019 and the Frenchman registered six goals and three assists across 74 games in all competitions.

Wohlgemuth: “Tanguy was here for four years and developed from a youth player into an established professional at VfB. He shouldered responsibility for the team in a very difficult situation in the closing stages of the season by scoring a penalty against Gladbach. We thank him for that, and much more besides, and wish him every success at his new club.”

Antonis Aidonis moved to the VfB U19s from TSG Hoffenheim in summer 2018 and eventually made the step up to the first team. The defender made two Bundesliga appearances and a further 54 for the U21s.

Wohlgemuth: “Toni was a part of VfB for a long time, both in the youth academy and then with the U21s and the first team. We thank Toni for our time together and wish him all the best for the future.”
