Under the motto “Coffee, Cars & Football”, hundreds of VfB supporters and other football fans gathered in front of the Higashi Hongan-ji temple in Kyoto on Sunday afternoon to meet first-team players, VfB legends, club bosses and members of the Porsche Japan management as part of the highly anticipated Porsche Fan Event. In front of the stunning backdrop of the temple as well as 21 white and red Porsche models, Guido Buchwald, Josha Vagnoman and Dan-Axel Zagadou signed countless autographs for the visiting fans. Former VfB players Shinji Okazaki and Gotoku Sakai also paid a visit and took selfies with football enthusiasts, who were given the opportunity to get their hands on VfB and Porsche souvenirs in a raffle and a wheel of fortune.

“Around 300 German and Japanese fans came together in front of a traditional temple in Kyoto today to gear up for the friendly match against Kyoto Sanga,” said VfB Stuttgart’s chief marketing and sales officer Rouven Kasper. “Aside from the sporting aspect, cultural exchange is also very important to us. We want to make VfB tangible and approachable on our Japan Tour, and we’re delighted to be here.”

“We’re really pleased to have come here today and are very proud of our partnership with VfB Stuttgart,” added Daniel Feucht, marketing director of Porsche Japan. “We share the same home in Stuttgart, so it’s very special for us to welcome VfB to Kyoto.”
