At its regular meeting, the supervisory board of VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG elected a new chairman. The president of VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V., Dietmar Allgaier, has taken over the chairmanship of the supervisory board from Tanja Gönner with immediate effect. The supervisory board also elected a second deputy, Lutz Meschke. Peter Schymon remains the first deputy.

“I would like to thank all members of the supervisory board for the trust they have placed in the executive committee and in me personally, and for the excellent cooperation from day one,” stated Allgaier. “The supervisory board has made important decisions for VfB over the past few months. I would particularly like to emphasise and acknowledge Tanja Gönner’s great personal commitment to VfB during this time. Her constructive work also made it possible to take this step so quickly, even before the end of Andreas Grupp’s and my first 100 days on the executive board. I look forward to continuing to work together.”

Gönner, meanwhile, added: “The Supervisory Board agreed that the chairmanship should return to the executive committee as soon as the conditions are right and the club is back on track. The general assembly, as the club’s highest body, sent out a clear signal in favour of this new start and with Dietmar Allgaier and Andreas Grupp at the helm of the club, this step has now been taken.

“I have always emphasised that I would be handing over the chairmanship again as a supervisory board member appointed and delegated by the club. My personal thanks go to all members of the committees for their trusting and highly successful cooperation during the transition phase and the handover to Dietmar Allgaier. Both were managed and organised very well together. I look forward to continuing to play an active role in the success of our VfB as a member of the supervisory board.”
