Ameen: “Thank you very much, I’m really happy to be here and to become part of the VfB family. I want to experience the atmosphere in the stadium and walk out in front of these special fans. I’m looking forward to the big challenge of playing in the Bundesliga.”
In January 2023, you joined Burnley in the Premier League. Is the Bundesliga now the next logical step for you?
Ameen: “It’s a real opportunity for me. I’m yet to play in the Bundesliga or the Champions League. I’m ready for those challenges and possibilities, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Orel Mangala played for VfB for four years, and you two are team-mates for Belgium. Did you talk to one another ahead of your move?
Ameen: “I did speak to Orel. He really enjoyed his time in Stuttgart and in the Bundesliga, and I hope to follow in his footsteps.”
What kind of player can the fans expect to see from you?
Ameen: “I’m more the quiet type, but I give it everything I’ve got when I’m out on the pitch. I always want to get a result, and I’m just really excited to show that when I make my VfB debut.”
