At an extraordinary meeting on 1 August 2024, the club’s advisory board voted by a clear majority in favour of appointing Dietmar Allgaier as interim president of VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V.

As district administrator of Ludwigsburg, Allgaier is responsible for a substantial public budget and is in charge of over 2,000 employees. He is also chairman of the Regionale Kliniken RKH GmbH supervisory board and heads the administrative board of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg, among other roles. Allgaier is 58 years old, married and has two adult children.

The executive committee now comprises Allgaier and Andreas Grupp, who was elected at the general assembly, thereby restoring the club’s ability to operate and conduct business to full capacity. The executive committee can now make decisions regarding the next general assembly, operational activities and the composition of the VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V. supervisory board.

This arrangement will be in place until the next general assembly. Allgaier has indicated he is only available for the current transitional period and does not intend to stand for president at that general assembly.

Dietmar Allgaier, president of VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V.: “In this crucial period, I want to establish stability and continuity in order to lead VfB calmly and safely through its upcoming challenges until the next general assembly. It is important to me to strengthen the bond between the club, its loyal fans and members, and the committees during this period in order to return to calmer waters.”
