The Bundesliga have announced the nominees for August’s Rookie of the Month, with RBL’s Xavi (20) in the running for the award.
The youngster scored two goals last month, in addition to providing three assists for his teammates.
The Dutchman opened the scoring with a stunning strike from the edge of the box against Union Berlin on the weekend, with head coach Marco Rose commenting afterwards that “We’ve already seen the Goal of the Month!”
Xavi has also excelled in other areas, such as his Gegenpressing and his defending. He covered an average of 11 kilometres across the first three Bundesliga matchdays and completed a team-high 31 sprints. The Netherlands international was also part of the starting XI for our Supercup victory against FC Bayern.
