• “We’re really happy with the win. It was hard work. It felt like the game could’ve gone either way, even though we took the lead early on and dominated the first 30 minutes.

  Then, we got a bit sloppy. You can’t do that against Freiburg. Making the triple substitution changed the game. I think Yussuf Poulsen, Christoph Baumgartner and Benjamin Henrichs were all key today.

• “We started really brightly and Xavi scored another amazing goal. We controlled the game, but didn’t continue to raise our energy levels. Freiburg grew into the game and were very shrewd about things.

  It was tough to play against them in the second 45. But, at the end of the day, we deserved to win. I knew that it was a stonewall penalty as soon as I was fouled, since Grifo made contact with me as I was trying to turn and play the ball backwards. I’m feeling better and better the more I play. I hope that people can tell when I’m on the pitch.“

• “It was an important game as far as getting back in the top four is concerned. We did a good job today. Freiburg are a tough team to play, but we still could’ve sealed the win earlier in the game.

  We moved up a gear towards the end of the match and scored two crucial goals. Leipzig was the right club to come to now, as I can continue to improve here. We can achieve a lot together.”

• “It was an important win. We’re really happy that we got the three points. We lost our focus from time to time. The goal just before half-time was a bit of a shock. But we managed to get a well-deserved win. We’re fourth in the league now and want to keep on climbing the table.
