Highlights

13th minute:

RBL take the lead! David Raum spots Benjamin Sesko making a run into the attacking third and picks the Slovenian out with a precise through ball from within his own half. Sesko receives the ball on the left-hand side of the box and makes it 1-0 with a right-footed finish.

15th minute:

Our boys continue to press. The ball arrives at Sesko’s feet at the edge of the area after Doudou Haidara and Xavi Simons combine. However, the centre-forward’s effort is slightly central and Coppens is able to make the save in goal for St. Truiden.

27th minute:

RB Leipzig have the game under control. Head coach Marco Rose’s team are fully switched on and keep winning their individual duels. The boys are also playing some attractive football in an attacking sense, although the final ball is still lacking at certain points – such is the case with Dani Olmo. The Spaniard combines effectively with Xavi Simons after a one-two on the right flank next to the touchline. Dani tries to pick out Sesko, who is waiting in the centre, although his pass is cut out for a corner, which doesn’t bring any danger.

38th minute:

Dani Olmo makes it 2-0! Once again David Raum provides the assist with a precise ball from the left flank. Olmo controls the ball into the box with his first touch and then slots the ball into the bottom right corner from approximately ten metres with his second.

40th minute:

RBL are on the counter-attack. After the ball is recovered within our own half, Sesko quickly advances through midfield with Timo Werner supporting him. Werner squares the ball for Benny Henrichs, arriving at the edge of the box, with the advancing right-back wasting no time in taking aim with his first touch. However, Henrichs’ shot misses the target by a metre or two with the ball flying just right of the post.

42th minute:

“El Mago” makes it 3-0! Timo Werner chips the ball from the left-hand side of the penalty area towards the six-yard area where Dani Olmo has made a perfectly timed run. Olmo pokes the ball past the goalkeeper with his right foot to register his second goal of the day.

52th minute:

Almost another goal! Timo Werner slots the ball home from a few metres out to seemingly make it 4-0. However, the goal is ruled out as Werner was just offside.

53th minute:

Another opportunity follows shortly afterwards for RB Leipzig: Sesko receives the ball after great work in the build-up from Xavi Simons. However, his shot slightly too high with the ball flying over the crossbar.

61th minute:

Xavi Simons goes close! The shot comes from the right-hand side of the box and goes just a few centimetres wide of the left post.

68th minute:

Benny Henrichs rises following a corner and gets a relatively free header from the penalty spot. The header is crucially deflected. However, another good set-piece situation for our boys.

73th minute:

A lovely RBL attack leads to the fourth goal! Xavi Simons plays Timo Werner through on the left, who finds Benjamin Sesko in the middle. Our centre-forward only has to tap the ball home from a couple of metres out. A second goal of the game for Sesko, with Werner registering his second assist.

80th minute:

After a harsh challenge from Barnes, Benny Henrichs is unable to continue and has to be replaced.

85th minute:

Xavi from distance! The long-range strike from the Dutch international doesn’t miss by much as the ball flies just past the right-hand post.

89th minute:

A strong clearance from ‘Chad’ Bitshiabu. Our number 5 covers for the beaten Janis Blaswich and clears Ogawa’s shot off the line.
