RB Leipzig signs Antonio Nusa

… Antonio Nusa

  • “Antonio is a very exciting player who we have been watching for a long time. He is the type of player that allows us flexibility when setting up our squad. Antonio is not a classic inside number 10, but a player who can also play on both wings, left and right. He can take up many positions in attack, and brings pace and strong possession skills.

Having said that, Antonio is only 19 years old and is new to the Bundesliga. We must not forget that. However, we are convinced that he ‘s bringing plenty to add to the team and has a lot in the tank. He really wanted to make this move happen. It was good that we had him on our list for a long time and now the moment has come for us to strike.

Players with Antonio’s quality are of course very popular and in demand on the market. That’s why we are happy that he joined us.”

… the current squad

  • “It’s great that the EURO players and Castello Jr., who just got back from Paris after winning an impressive silver medal, are back here with us. Now we have the entire squad back together and in good shape. We are happy with our team. However, we will of course continue to monitor the market and do not want to rule anything out, both in terms of arrivals and departures.”

… the left-back position

  • “In David Raum we have a top performer in this position who can deliver a strong season. We have complete confidence in David. In Benny Henrichs, Chad Bitshiabu and Castello Jr. we have several players who can also play in this position. We feel ready to go into the season with this lineup, but we’re keeping our eyes open.”

… the DFB Pokal match at Essen

  • “I played there myself. Hafenstrasse always gets very involed. We can expect an intense game. We don’t take anything for granted, we prepare conscientiously and know what awaits us there. Essen is playing well, they’ve already played twice in the league. It will be loud in the stands. So, we’re facing a real tough test. We will be extra focussed in this game.”
