Marco Rose

  • “It was a very good group stage, as we picked up 12 points. We won the tricky away games in Bern and Belgrade and qualified for the next round as a result. We were also a pretty good match for Manchester City, especially when we played them in Manchester. We’re taking a lot of positives from the games.

We played really well with the set-up we used today. I’m happy with the performance. We wanted to show that we want to win games, even when there are no stakes. Now, we’re looking forward to our last two Bundesliga games of the year, as well as the draw for the round of 16 on Monday.”

Emil Forsberg

  • “There wasn’t really much to play for against Young Boys, but we still wanted to end the group stage on a high and take our points tally to 12 points. It wasn’t pretty in the first half. The visitors held their own and kept on closing down space. We were much better in the second half. I’m obviously really happy with the goal. It was a great pass from Kevko. We’re happy with the victory and the group stage as a whole”

Péter Gulácsi

  • “Both teams were very compact in the first half and didn’t take many risks. We lost the ball too much in the final third. We weren’t as dominant as we wanted to be. The second half was more open. We scored nice goals at the right moments. We had several chances and I think we deserved to win.

Playing here is always special. Not being able to play has meant it’s been a very long year. I’m really happy that I played today. Champions League nights are always amazing and I really enjoyed it.”

Kevin Kampl

  • “I’m feeling good. My ankle was a bit swollen, but it’s all cleared up now. I’m not having problems in training. I played for over 90 minutes, which I’m most pleased about.

We had a new-look team on the pitch. As a result, we knew that we were going to forgive mistakes and have to work hard for one another. I’m happiest for the boys who haven’t played much recently. It’s nice that they got a chance and can take a positive experience from the game.”

Christopher Lenz

  • “We started really well with our goal that was disallowed for offside. Then, we lost momentum a bit and we weren’t working so well as a team. But the coach said at the break that we shouldn’t beat ourselves up about one or two mistakes and that we should carry on playing our brand of football.

You could see that we stepped it up a gear in the second half and our goal came then as well. We had to calm the game down a bit at the death, but thankfully we won.”
