Goalkeeper Josep Martínez will complete a permanent transfer for Genoa CFC on 1st July 2023 and play the upcoming season in Italy’s Serie A.
The 25-year-old spent the 2022/23 season at Genoa, helping them to return to Italy’s top flight at the first time of asking with a second-place finish in Serie B. As a result, Genoa have exercised their buy option for the player.
The Spanish goalkeeper established himself as the first-choice over the season and played 30 league games, keeping 17 clean sheets.
Martínez had joined RB Leipzig from UD Las Palmas in summer 2020 and made four competitive appearances in two years, including keeping a clean sheet in a 5-0 win over Club Brugge in the Champions League.
