Good to know | Antonio Nusa

  • Antonio Nusa will be the sixth player to wear number 7 in RB Leipzig’s history.

His predecessors: Dani Olmo, Marcel Sabitzer, Matthias Morys, Timo Rost, Christian Streit

  • Antonio Nusa was born on April 17, 2005 in Langhus, about 20 kilometers from Oslo. Antonio’s father is from Nigeria, his mother is Norwegian. His full name is Antonio Eromonsele Nordby Nusa.

  • The third Norwegian! Two of his countrymen have played previously for the Red Bulls’ professional team: Ørjan Nyland (2022 to 2023, 3 games) and Alexander Sørloth (2020 to 2021, 38 games, 6 goals).

  • He currently has 84,500 followers in his official Instagram profile: @nusaantonio.

  • His goal/assists average with the Norwegian national team is outrageous: he’s been involved in 6 direct goal plays in 7 matches (1 goal, 6 assists).

  • 3 of his assists with Norway allowed Erling Haaland to score each time.

  • Along with Ansu Fati (17 years, 1 month and 9 days) from FC Barcelona and George Ilenikhena (17 years, 3 months and 27 days) from Royal Antwerp, there are only two players in the world who have scored their first Champions League goal while being younger than Antonio Nusa (17 years, 4 months und 27 days).

  • One of the main role models of our new speed dribbler is Neymar. Some media have already compared Antonio to the Brazilian because of his style of play and called him the “Norwegian Neymar”. “It is partly thanks to Neymar that I fell in love with football. When I watch videos of him on YouTube, I get excited and want to imitate his tricks,” Antonio explained a few years ago.

However, these comparisons certainly come too early for our 19-year-old new signing, who will be given enough time in Leipzig to integrate.
