Good to know
- Christoph is purely know as ‘Baumi’ in the team and in his friendship group.
- Off the pitch, Baumi is a proper family man, who not only likes to cook, but also cooks well. Having grown up in the countryside, he is also very at home in nature.
- His older brother Dominik is also a professional footballer and plays for Wolfsberger AC in the Austrian Bundesliga.
- His girlfriend Sandy was a professional footballer andwon the Austrian Championship in 2014 with USV Neulengenbach and in 2018 with SKN St. Pölten. In the 2017/18 season, she played two Champions League games. At RBL, he will finally have the opportunity to equal this.
Ideal job? Teacher
- Christoph Baumgartner has one dog (a pomeranian) called Cody.
- His dream job outside of football? Teacher – like his mother. He would most liked to have taught PE, maths and English.

Celebration somersault
- He counts his brother Dominik as well as David Alaba of Real Madrid, who he befriended while playing for the Austria national team, among his role models.
- He has already provided two assists with a backheel.
- With his winning goal to make it 1-0 against Ukraine on 21st June 2021 in Bucharest, Baumgartner secured Austria’s passage into the round of 16 of the EUROs for the first time in their history.
- Christoph Baumgartner celebrates some of his goals with a somersault. He perfected this on his trampoline at home in the garden as a child.
Wiener Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn
- Christoph is a coffee lover and likes to drink two or three cups of coffee before a game. To wind down and regenerate after a game the 23-year-old likes to go to the sauna.
- His favourite food is Wiener Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn cooked by his grandmother. His favourite typical German food is Maultaschen.
- In 2022, he set up the ‘Christoph Baumgartner Training School’ in Uganda, which gives the opportunity to mainly young women to get an education.
