A groundbreaking friendly!
Our friendly match against Aston Villa at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey wasn’t just a success on the pitch.
We also were able to show off some innovative tools as part of the broadcast, with the likes of Kevin Kampl and Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers wearing a body cam during the game.
There was also a brand-new perspective for fans thanks to a so-called FPV drone that hovered just a few meters above the players. It was the premiere for the technology, with no drone having flown closer to the action during a professional soccer match.

- „Not only is this our first US tour, but it is also a great opportunity to showcase innovation. Innovation is something that is very much at the heart of our club.
What could be more innovative than giving fans the opportunity to experience new camera angles and new footage? That is what we did in our friendly against Aston Villa.
Because at the end of the day it’s very simple: What is good for our fans is good for our sport.“
