Arthur and the press!

Our new signing Arthur Vermeeren took the time to meet the press on Thursday’s media round. The youngster spoke about his first impressions of RB Leipzig, his club Atlético Madrid and his goals with the Red Bulls. Here are the most relevant moments of his interview.

Arthur Vermeeren on…

…his first impressions of RBL

  • “I’m really impressed. It’s a wonderful club. Everything has been going well so far and I’m happy to be here. It’s a club with a great vision, that gives young players an opportunity to prove themselves. It’s what I need right now to continue progressing.”

…his personality

  • “I’m a shy person, I’m not much of a talker. When you get to know me, you realize I’m someone that enjoys laughing and spending my time with family and friends. I’m not loud, I prefer to let my football do all the talking.”

…UCL opponents Atlético Madrid

  • “I don’t consider my time there as a mistake. I learned a lot, made new friends and grew as a person. Of course, I’m familiar with their playing style and maybe I can provide some insights to our manager.”

…his goals

  • “We’re a young group that happens to be experienced. I like being a part of this team and I hope that I will learn plenty while here. I just want to play as much football as possible, it’s what I love doing the most.”

…the manager, Marco Rose

  • “I’ve spoken with him plenty about what he expects of me and how the team should play. I have the feeling that he has a lot of confidence in me, which means I enjoy working with him.”

…his Belgian teammates

  • “Yes, it’s nice to have them. They were really helpful during these first weeks. But I think that the team is made up of great guys, it made adapting much easier.”

  • “They’re a good team, but we’re well prepared. If we deliver a good collective performance, we can be sure we’ll win, which would mean a lot to the fans.”
