Heading into the summer break with a draw!
Frankfurt had two good chances after 15 minutes. First Janis Blaswichhad to clear a Hugo Ekitike effort, and Omar Marmoush fired a long-range shot just over the goal soon after. At the other end, Lois Openda tried with a backheel (18′).
The Hessians, who wanted to secure sixth place, were the more active team. Once again it was Marmoush who was denied by Blaswich on 21 minutes. Shortly before the break, Xavi started dancing. First he flew past Ekitike, then Mario Götze could only stop him with a foul in the box. Xavi safely converted the penalty (42′).
The second half started with a bang. Benjamin Sesko drove the ball under the crossbar from the edge of the box. The game was interrupted for a few minutes when smoke detectors went off in the video cube. Ekitike then headed home almost as soon as referee Felix Zwayer had whistled for the restart (60′).
Just poat the hour mark, SGE defender Tuta manoeuvred the ball onto his own post, and Eljif Elmas‘ follow-up shot also hit the woodwork. Marmoush equalised from the penalty spot after a foul by Benjamin Henrichs(77′). In the final phase, both teams exchanged blows, and well into stoppage time, Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe once again shot narrowly wide.

- First shot on goal by the Hessians, first save by Janis Blaswich! Our keeper has to go down to stop a shot from Hugo Ekitike.
Shortly afterwards, Omar Marmoush tries from a distance, the ball goes just over the goal. It didn’t miss by much.
18th Minute: Openda backheel
