Sven Michel joins Paderborn
Forward returns to his former club
Sven Michel has left FC Augsburg ahead of the 2024/25 season. The 33-year-old forward joined FCA from Union Berlin last year and scored two goals and provided one assist in 23 competitive games for the club. Michel has now left the Fuggerstädter with immediate effect to return to his former club SC Paderborn. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.
“It’s not easy for me to leave FCA after just one season. I would have liked more game time though, and now I’ve decided to take this opportunity to play more regularly at Paderborn. I’d like to thank FCA for allowing me to make this move and I wish the club all the best for the new season,” said Sven Michel, who previously featured for SC Paderborn from July 2016 to January 2022.
“Sven made a valuable contribution to our successes last season with his experience and as a personality in the dressing room. After good and honest conversations, we mutually agreed to grant Sven his wish to move to Paderborn. We’d like to thank Sven for his efforts at FCA and wish him all the best for his personal and professional future,” said FCA sporting director Marinko Jurendic.
