Samuel Essende handed two-match ban
Decision follows red card against Mainz
Following individual judgement proceedings and an indictment by the DFB’s Control Committee, the DFB has imposed a ban of two league matches on Samuel Essende for “violent conduct towards an opponent in retaliation for an offence committed against him.”
In the home defeat against 1. FSV Mainz 05, Essende was sent off by referee Sören Storks in the 67th minute following an on-field review. The DFB’s Control Committee bore in mind the fact that Essende’s misconduct followed an illegal offence by opposing player Dominik Kohr on the Augsburg striker.
FCA have agreed to the legally binding judgement. The forward will now miss the next two Bundesliga fixtures, against RasenBallsport Leipzig (Saturday, 28th September, kick-off 15:30 CEST) and Borussia Mönchengladbach (Friday, 4th October, kick-off 20:30 CEST).
