Felix Uduokhai completes move to Besiktas
Five-year spell at FCA comes to an end
After five years in the red, green and white of FC Augsburg, Felix Uduokhai has left the club to join Besiktas. The 26-year-old centre-back, who made a total of 124 competitive appearances for FCA, joins the Istanbul-based club on loan with an obligation to buy. The transfer fee is undisclosed.
“We’ve always been open and very fair with our communication. After agreeing last year that I would stay at Augsburg for another season, the club has known since June that I now want to take on a new challenge. My time at FCA may be over, but I’m so grateful for this experience. I particularly want to thank the management for respecting my wishes and doing their best to find a solution for all parties. We have now been able to achieve that with this move. I continue to wish FCA all the best and will no doubt keep a very close eye on the club in the future,” said Felix Uduokhai.
“Win-win solution”
“After Felix was unable to take the next step in his career last summer, we agreed to continue our journey together for another year. With 33 competitive appearances, Felix had the solid campaign we were both hoping for from him and he was a linchpin in the team. We continued to hold constructive talks and worked together on finding a win-win solution for all parties. That is something we have now successfully done with the move to Besiktas. We would like to thank Felix for his years of service in FCA colours and wish him the best for the future both on and off the pitch,” said FCA sporting director Marinko Jurendic.
