FCA to play friendlies against Leicester City and Olympique Marseille
Family Day on 10th August
FC Augsburg will gear up for the upcoming season with two more friendly matches. After retunring from their training camp in South Africa, the FCA players will face off against newly-promoted Premier League side Leicester City. The match in Allgäu will kick off at 15:30 CEST on Saturday, 3rd August. The venue for the friendly is the Illerstadion, home of FC Kempten.
Leicester City shocked the world in 2015/16 by winning the Premier League title in sensational style. The Foxes were relegated in 2023, but bounced back and achieved automatic promotion back to the top division of English football last season. Captain Jamie Vardy is one of their most well-known players.
Family Day with clash against OM
FCA’s popular Family Day will be held at the WWK Arena one week before the return of competitive football. Augsburg will also face off against nine-time French champions Olympique Marseille, who finished eighth in Ligue 1 last season, on Saturday 10th August (17:00 CEST). Roberto de Zerbi, formerly of Brighton, has recently been announced as the side’s new head coach.
