FCA to face FC Schalke 04 in second round of DFB-Pokal

FC Augsburg have been drawn at home in the second round of the DFB-Pokal against Bundesliga 2 side FC Schalke 04. The draw was held at the German Football Museum in Dortmund on Sunday evening, with Olympic 3v3 basketball goal medallist Sonja Greinacher and DFB vice-president Peter Frymuth overseeing proceedings.

Having opened their cup campaign with a 4-1 win at Viktoria Berlin, FCA will now come up against the Royal Blues, who won 2-0 at VfR Aalen in the first round. “I’m delighted that we’ve been drawn at home. We want to reach the next round with the support of our fans at home,” head coach Jess Thorup said about the draw.
The second round of cup matches will take place on 29th and 30th October 2024.
