FCA continue to support Raphael Framberger during his comeback

Pre-season with the U23s

FCA will continue to support long-time player Raphael Framberger as he works to come back from his third cruciate ligament tear. His contract, originally set to run out on 30th June, as been extended by a further year. The 28-year-old has featured in 84 Bundesliga and five DFB-Pokal matches for FCA, and will now have the opportunity to take part in pre-season with the club’s U23s as he works to get back to full fitness.

“Raphael Framberger is FCA through and through, and we knew immediately that we wanted to provide someone like him, that’s been with the club since he was eight years old and made the leap from our youth sides into the first team, with all the support he needs. There will always be a place for him at FCA,” said CEO Michael Ströll.

“Unfortunately, Raphael Framberger hasn’t been able to feature for us in the last months. I’ve always known him to be a fighter, who always picks himself back up and fights his way back. We’re therefore pleased that he’s reached the point where he can join our U23s for pre-season,” said sporting director Marinko Jurendic.

“My time in rehabilitation training is coming to an end, and I can’t wait to get back on the pitch in order to take part in pre-season with the U23s. I’m very grateful to FCA for allowing me this opportunity by extending my contract,” said Framberger. “It’s always been my goal to be able to return to playing at the highest level. I will now try to take this opportunity.”
