Alexis Claude-Maurice signs for FC Augsburg

Contract until 2027

FCA have made a new signing in the shape of Alexis Claude-Maurice. The 26-year-old attacking midfield, who had a contract at OGC Nice until this summer, comes to Augsburg having played 102 Ligue 1 matches (ten goals, eleven assists). The Frenchman has signed a contract at FCA until 30th June 2027.

Having come through FC Lorient’s academy, Claude-Maurice joined Nice ahead of the 2019/20 season for a transfer fee of €13 million. He played 96 competitive games at the French top-division side, including six in the Europa League. The 26-year-old is at home both as a ten and an eight, and can also play on the wing.

“Would like to help the team with good performances”

“After the end of my contract at Nice, I was on the look for an ambitious club where I can further my development as best of possible. The conversations with the leadership at FC Augsburg were incredibly positive and gave me the feeling that I am in the right place here. I am at a prime age now and would like to help the team with good performances and hopefully also with goals and assists so that we have a successful season,” said Alexis Claude-Maurice.

“Alexis brings a lot of experience from the top division in France and as a youth international. He can play across the frontline. With his technical qualities, his agility and his creativity, he should give our attacking play important impetus, especially in the final third,” explained FCA’s sporting director Marinko Jurendic.
