Manchester City is officially the most valuable football club brand in the world with the Brand Finance Football 50 Report proving just how dominant the English game has become. City are the first Premier League team to top this list in six years and have ended Real Madrid’s four-year streak in first place.
Pep Guardiola’s side – who were charged with 115 breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules in February after a four-year investigation – enjoyed a 13% brand value increase from 2022 and boast the highest revenue in the 2023 rankings.
Although Real Madrid are no longer the pacesetters, the report has deemed the Spanish giants ‘the world’s strongest football club brand’, meaning they ‘attract fans, players, investors, and sponsors to engage with the club’.
The top 50 includes one non-European club (Flamengo), 17 English clubs, one Scottish club (Celtic), and only three French clubs.
Here are the top 20 from the report, including nine Premier League clubs.
