Man Utd target’s father admits his son is ‘likely’ to ‘be playing for another team in July’

The father of Alexis MacAllister has admitted his son is expected to leave Brighton this summer amidst interest from Man Utd and Liverpool.

World Cup winner, Mac Allister, has been in excellent form this season and is attracting interest from a host of top Premier League clubs.

On Thursday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated that the 24-year-old will leave Brighton at the end of the season.

It is unclear how much Albion will ask for this summer, with .

The writing appears to be on the wall following Romano’s report and the recent quotes from the player’s father.

Speaking to Puroboca, Mac Allister’s father, Carlos, admitted that talks are now underway over an exit – which is the “most likely” scenario this summer.

“The talks are just beginning in general,” he said.

“But it is most likely that Alexis will already be playing in another team next July.”

Carlos also said he believes his son will play for Argentine giants Boca Juniors in the future.

He said: “Surely Alexis will return at some point to play in Boca, today he is just starting his career in Europe, but on the way back when he decides to settle back in Argentina, for sure he will want to play in Boca, even if it is a while, to finish thanking and show the level he can have in a club of that nature in Argentina.”

A report from Football Insider has stated that Brighton are willing to listen to offers for Mac Allister.

It is surprising that this is getting a mention, but the report states that the Seagulls are ‘desperate’ to avoid the Argentina midfielder being able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement in January 2025 so are eager to get a decent fee before then.

Despite the fact he is one of the highest earners at the Amex, the club are aware they will be ‘blown out of the water’ by Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea.

They are very likely to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season, while Chelsea sit eleventh and Liverpool eighth, two points behind Brighton, who have a game in hand.

Arsenal have also been linked with the Argentine midfielder, but are unlikely to get involved in a bidding war with Mikel Arteta making West Ham midfielder Declan Rice his number-one target this summer.
